Comprehensive Obituary Database: Obit360

Following the limitations placed on the LADMF (Limited Access Death Master File), we knew there was a way to bridge the gap of information left by this change. When we started reviewing all of the available information, we discovered that obituaries and death notices were the way we could provide our customers with the most information despite the limitations. Enter: Obit360.
Obit360 is the cutting-edge answer to the missing LADMF records; what is missing in the LADMF can typically be found in this service. Take a look at the differences between our obituary database and the LADMF: Obit360 added 2.8 million records in 2017, while the LADMF added only 1.3 million records! That’s quite a significant difference!

How Obit360 Supplements the LADMF

In order to accurately locate our customers’ participants, we need complete, clean data. The LADMF provides the name, DOB, DOD and age of the individual, and while this information is useful to us, we need more than that to accurately locate the participant using Obit360. Obit360 data provides name, residence, age, DOB, DOD and the official obituary/death notice, which can contain additional information about beneficiaries and history of life. This information is incredibly important to our customers’ when locating any participants’ beneficiaries or descendants to ensure proper allocation of benefits.

Just finding the additional information should be a sufficient reason to include Obit360 in your death audit services! Obit360 provides additional obituary tools for searching, filtering, notification and reporting, probability index (P-Index) and our proprietary search algorithm (which we think is pretty impressive!). On top of all of these fantastic options to make your life easier, we also integrated a simple-to-use graphical user interface (GUI) and a stellar user experience (UX).

A Smarter National Obituary Database Powered by AI

Obit360 is a continuously updated national obituary database designed to surface death records that may be missing from traditional sources, including gaps commonly found in the LADMF. By combining large-scale obituary data with advanced AI and machine learning models, Obit360 helps organizations identify unreported or delayed death events faster and with greater confidence.

Unlike basic obituary listings, Obit360 records are built to support real-world operational use cases — from compliance and risk management to customer lifecycle updates and record reconciliation.

This intelligent obituary database is designed to supplement LADMF coverage, expanding visibility beyond SSN-based matching by incorporating names, dates of birth, and geographic signals to help identify death paths that may not yet appear in official files.

How Obit360 Uses AI and Machine Learning to Improve Death Matching

Many death events go unreported or are delayed in traditional datasets. Obit360 addresses this gap using artificial intelligence and machine learning models trained to recognize complex identity patterns across obituary data.

  • AI-Driven Matching Capabilities Include:
  • Name normalization and variation detection
  • Date of birth and age estimation logic
  • City, state, and regional correlation
  • Cross-source obituary validation

By analyzing multiple attributes simultaneously, Obit360 uncovers death records that may not yet exist in official SSN-based files, helping organizations reduce blind spots and improve decision-making.
