Data is what runs business, the world and us – have you ever heard the saying (not related to Google’s “Content is King” of course!): “Data is King and Context is the Queen?” Let us not forget that the selective cuts of data are the Prince and Princess, and the business culture is the throne. This new digital kingdom, with its context, elements, residents, data models and digital artifacts shape how we use data and technology.
How Is Data Produced?
Have you ever thought about how much data there is just for little ole’ you? There are a couple of pieces of data that may immediately come to mind: name and date of birth; but when you think about it, you may add: sex, address, work phone, cell phone. Then, the floodgates open and you have a list of data just about yourself:
- Date of birth
- Phone numbers
- Driver’s license information
- Biographical data
- Demographic data
- Family data
- Marital data – and the list goes on and on!
The infinite points of data compose the finite of who we are. We are becoming a data fractal. As we take more steps in this new digital kingdom, we produce more data, data types and structures and even data islands. While this may seem like a hopeless reality, that isn’t the case. It is part of our technology-based society and world.

At different points in our lives, we or someone we know have to take a deep breath and collect those scattered and siloed data elements and arrange them into logical, cohesive information. For example: a resume, a credit application, an insurance application, an employment application, a marriage certificate, a birth certificate and a death certificate. These pieces of information create your individual footprint – they are part of what make you you in our society.
LifeStatus360 helps businesses who need to track the individuals and fulfill fiduciary requirements. We provide assistance in monitoring, collecting, organizing and reporting on those points of data for your participants or employees, creating a manageable piece of information, whether you’re using Death Audit Services and Life Audit Services. We can transform the pieces of data in actionable and intelligent information.
